Not every student who walks into your class will tell you what they're carrying. This 30-Hour Trauma Sensitive Teacher Training equips yoga teachers and wellness facilitators with the knowledge, language, and practical tools to create genuinely safe spaces - for every body, every story, every nervous system.
Held in the serene beachfront yoga shala of Nour Boutique Hotel in Dahab, Egypt, this intimate three-day training blends theory, somatic practice, and lived experience into a grounded, compassionate education. Whether you're deepening your existing teaching or stepping into a new dimension of your practice, this course will change the way you see - and serve - the people in your room.

Course Overview:
Theory Classes
Recognising Trauma Definitions of trauma, the medical model, ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), the Window of Tolerance, Survival Scars, and an introduction to Polyvagal Theory through the lens of the gunas.
Trauma Sensitive Yoga Considerations Core principles of trauma sensitive yoga, revisiting the gunas, establishing safety, working with boundaries, touch and adjustment, offering choice, and Taking Effective Action.
Class Content, Risk Assessment & Scope of Practice The Satvic Sandwich, pranayama, asana, meditation, relaxation and visualisation, risk recognition and reduction, managing dissociation and flashbacks, and understanding your scope of practice.
Workshop Classes
Safety Exploring what safety means personally and collectively, safety through asana exploration, orientation and embodiment, and a guided meditation on the Safe Place and Islands of Safety.
The Nervous System Somatic practices including shaking and tapping, asana considerations for nervous system regulation, and identifying nervous system states through movement.
Teaching Final teaching practice and leading a state-aware sequence - bringing it all together with confidence and care.
Certification Information:
Upon successful completion of this training, you will receive a 30-hour Certificate in Trauma Sensitive Teaching, recognising your commitment to safe, informed, and compassionate facilitation.

Do I need prior teaching experience to attend?
A foundational yoga teaching background is helpful but not essential. This course is open to all practitioners and facilitators who work with people in a caring capacity.
Is this course certified?
Yes. You will receive a Certificate of Completion for 30 hours of Trauma Sensitive Teacher Training upon successful participation.
Do I need to have experienced trauma myself to attend?
No. This course is open to all. Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace and within their own comfort zone throughout the training.
Is the training trauma-informed in its delivery as well as its content?
Absolutely. Every element of this training - from the morning yoga to the workshop structure - is designed and facilitated through a trauma sensitive lens.
